Description
Here is a 1:1 balun that covers the 1.8Mhz to 54Mhz range. This balun is essentially four coil windings that are wired in such away as to simulate a
50 ohm transmission line. The coils are also used to greatly attenuate common mode current.
This balun serves two purposes. One is to make sure all the power from your transmitter goes to
your antenna and none /very little is radiated by your coaxial line or other feeder type. The second purpose
is to eliminate RFI from your transmission line. Use this balun whenever you use an unbalanced transmission
line to feed your antenna, ie like coaxial cable. This balun can also be used in "balanced" transmission lines
such as ladder line. The power rating of this balun is 800W or better. Insertion loss was measured to be .15dB.
The VSWR measured into a 50ohm load is very low.Worst case VSWR is 1.18 at 54 Mhz. P
hotos show the exact VSWR measurements for this particular balun.
I am a amateur radio operator (AC1GF) and use these baluns on all my dipole antennas. Please email me with any questions.
