    Description

I have for sale a Women's Committee medal from the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition that was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The exposition was held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.  The women's committee was made up of various women's groups that served on the committee at the exposition and one of their exhibits was the High Street Exhibit that recreated a colonial street, circa 1776.  This exhibit was one of the highlights of the exposition.  The medal is made up of three parts, the metal top pin back bar, a red, white and blue ribbon and the eagle at the bottom.  The metal parts look to be brass?, it is 2 3/4 inches long and in slightly circulated condition.  The top bar reads 1776 PHILADELPHIA 1926.  The eagle at the bottom holds a ribbon and on the ribbon it reads WOMEN'S COMMITTEE SESQUI CENTENNIAL.  The makers name HOOD, PHILA. is on the blank reverse.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES.  (17,343)
