Erom Belgium to Baja, from Carls-
bad to Czechoslovakia, from the
ty deserts of the West to the rolling
green hills of the East, Husqvarna motor-
cycles have won more major races and
championships in more types of off-road
events than any other brand of motorcycle.
In motocross, in enduros, in the ISDT, in
the desert and in cross-country races,
champions like Kent Howerton. Heikki
Mikkola, Dick Burleson and Malcolm
Smith each did their own special brand of
heroics on a Husqvarna.
Judging from that track record and from
the performance of the new Husky 390 CR
motocrosser, Husqvarna motorcycles ex-
ecute their appointed duties exceptionally
well. And one needn't look any further
than the 39O’s owner’s manual to begin to
understand why. For in reading through
the manual’s'75 pages it is clearly evident
that whoever wrote the book was inti-
mately familiar with the motorcycle, just
as it is equally obvious that whoever built
the motorcycle was intimately familiar
with motocross.
The manual doesn't just tell you to put
screw A into hole B and leave it at that. It
also explains why certain things are done a
certain way. The text educates the reader
about the need for sprocket changes and
the proper use of the available gearbox
ratios for certain tracks. It tells how some
parts of the bike actually work and why...
