Delightful Hand-Hooked Rug Floral Design Soft Colors Frays/Tears @ Edges 47”x30”

Description

This rug has a beautifully hooked center with lovely muted colors featuring spring flowers like pansies, daffodils, lilies, tulips, and others. The medallion center is on a black ground. The border has a stylized scroll pattern in pretty colors of gray, green and brown.
Issues with this rug are stains on the front as seen in photo 6 and others and quite severe fraying and tearing along one side of the rug’s edge (photos 7 and 8). That edge is totally pulled apart, and it is easy to see the problems when viewing the back (compare photos 2 and 1).
The rug measures 47” x 30”.
This rug has the most gorgeous hooked floral center, but the edges need repair. The tears around the edges in several places could be sewn or rehooked with some skill. Nevertheless, the center floral design is intact, very nicely hooked and quite lovely, although there are stains scattered around the top.
The artisan who made this rug had a good color sense and cleverly used touches of contrasting color or browns or other colors in veins of leaves and flowers to pull the design together. The gray/light brown/taupe character of the border fabric and the green-gray scrolls also make a nice contrast with the florals.
This rug is sold as is. It could be professionally cleaned and restored or repaired or it could be cut for use in another project, requiring a lovely hooked piece.
