    Description

    This is a beautifully designed 2" x 3 1/2" card with color images of the mission patch for flight
    STS-86 and an emblem of the Space Shuttle Program. Attached to the card is an authentic piece of thermal protection foil that was part of an insulating blanket that flew in space as part of Space Shuttle Atlantis during the STS-86 mission in 1997.  The piece of foil measures about 3/8" x 3/4".
    My scanner makes the foil look black. Actually it'
    s a bright, shiny silver.
    This piece of thermal foil spent nearly 11 days in space orbiting the earth 170 times.
